Abstract:
To provide a method for separating and recovering propargyl alcohol from a production mixture comprising a solvent, water and the propargyl alcohol, by which the propargyl alcohol can be separated and recovered in a simple operation also advantageously in terms of heat energy without complicating a separation operation and a process, while solving the difficult points of the conventional techniques.
This method for separating and recovering the propargyl alcohol is characterized by reacting paraformaldehyde with acetylene in the presence of a catalyst in a polar solvent and then distilling the obtained production mixture containing the propargyl alcohol in a condition comprising a pressure of 100 to 150 mmHg.
