Abstract:

PURPOSE: To execute the measurement in a short day or in a short time by heating a material composed of mineral composition of steelmaking slag, etc., in which hydration reaction progresses at high temp., and measuring a rate of residual expansion with reduced quantity of reaction moisture.

CONSTITUTION: In the material composed of the mineral composition of the steelmaking slag, etc., there is the correlation between the moisture content absorbed by the hydration reaction and the rate of residual expansion. Therefore, the material composed of the mineral composition of the steelmaking slag, in which the hydration reaction progresses, is heated at a high temp., and water of crystallization combined with the hydration reaction is ignitedly volatiled, and by obtaining this volatiled quantity (the reduced quantity in the reaction moisture), the rate of residual expansion can be measured. In this case, the ignition-volatiled quantity is shown with the ignition-volatiled quantity (%)=[{(drying wt. in furnace at 110°C before the ignition volatilization)-(wt.after the ignition volatilization)}/(drying wt. in furnace at 100°C before the ignition volatilization)]×100.
