PURPOSE: To execute the spread-rolling of sheared board and steel strip continuously by stopping the revolution of rolls and feeding of sheet temporarily and repeating to move the rolls inversely during rolling when the notch of roll comes in the position of roll bite.

CONSTITUTION: A board 1 on the inlet side which is supplied from an uncoiler 9 is entered from a direction that is inclined to the axial center of a pair of rolling rolls 3 with a board feeding device 5 on the inlet side, made into an outlet side board 2 by rolling down with the rolls 3 and coiled with a recoiler 10. When, the movement of the way of board in the direction of roll axis is prevented by moving the pair of rolling rolls 3 at the meandering speed Vr1 of board in the opposite direction to the meandering direction of board together with a housing. Because the board is relatively moved to the rolling rolls 3, the board is interfered with the housing 4. After the board is situated at the opposite end of the roll by moving the rolling rolls at a speed Vr2 by leaving a clearance between the sheet and the roll just before the interference for preventing this matter, rolling is executed by adding rolling-down again with the rolls.
