To provide a method for trimming a dog, which uses a dog holder for reducing fatigue during the trimming of the dog and not causing the movement of the dog due to the fatigue, even when a time required for the trimming is elongated, and which is safe for a trimmer, facilitates the trimming and can make the dog to resist to a long time trimming.

This method for using the portable dog holder comprising a dog abdomen-holding portion comprising a putting table and a cushion portion for being put on the putting table to movably contact with the wide lower portion of the dog abdomen in a non-fixed state, a support member fixing and supporting in the vertical direction below the dog abdomen-holding portion and having an adjustable height, and a fixing plate for fixing the support member is characterized in that the height of the support member is adjusted to contact the dog abdomen-holding portion of the dog holder with the wide region of the dog abdomen, thereby holding one part of the body weight of the dog in a state that the dog stands with four legs.
