Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing waste heat for a carbon dioxide recovery process for obtaining hot water fed to local heating, or the like, by utilizing much amount of waste heat generated in the carbon dioxide recovery process.
SOLUTION: This method for utilizing waste heat includes a step for feeding a burned exhaust gas to a cooling tower and cooling it; a step for feeding the burned exhaust gas to an absorption tower and contacting it with a regeneration absorption liquid fed from a regeneration tower to absorb carbon dioxide in the burned exhaust gas to the regeneration absorption liquid; a step for carrying out a heat exchange of a carbon dioxide-absorbing liquid stored at a bottom part of the absorption tower with a regeneration absorption liquid fed from the regeneration tower and heating it, thereafter feeding it to the regeneration tower and heating the bottom part of the regeneration tower with a saturated vapor to separate the carbon dioxide-absorbing liquid to carbon dioxide and the regeneration absorption liquid. Hot water is obtained by heating hot water-returned water by any one or a combination of two or more of heat exchange with the regeneration absorption liquid after heat exchange; heat exchange with carbon dioxide discharged from the regeneration tower; and heat exchange with a saturated solution after heating the bottom part of the regeneration tower.
