PURPOSE: To quench red-hot coke with a small equipment cost, by wet quenching the red-hot coke, leading generated mixed gas to a turbine generator to generate power, using a combustible gas in the mixed gas for heating steam at the inlet of the turbine, and recovering waste and heat without requiring a boiler.
CONSTITUTION: Red-hot coke is wet extinguished and quenched, and the resultant generated steam is used to generate power in a turbine. In the process, the red- hot coke is charged into a pressure-resistant cooler 10, and a charging lid 11 is tightly closed. Cooling water is then poured into the cooler 10 to wet quench the red-hot coke. The resultant mixed gas consisting essentially of the generated saturated steam is then led to a turbine generator 6 to generate electric power, and a combustible gas in the mixed gas is then extracted from a condenser 7 with an ejector at the same time. The extracted gas is then fed to a combustion furnace 18 with an extraction fan 16 and burned with air from a combustion air fan 16, and the saturated steam at the inlet of the turbine is heated with a superheater 13.
