Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a polyamino acid derivative from an amino acid with less steps, and under a mild condition.

In the method for producing the polyamino acid derivative, the polyamino acid derivative with a modified terminal is obtained by (a) subjecting an amino acid carbamate compound to polycondensation in the presence of an amine compound so as to obtain a polyamino acid, and (b) modifying the terminal of the obtained polyamino acid with an unsaturated group etc. by making the obtained polyamino acid and a terminal modifier such as an unsaturated carboxylic acid etc. react with each other, and when the terminal group is the unsaturated group, the polyamino acid derivative is addition copolymerizable with a monomer as a macromonomer.
