To provide a methylmercaptan-deodorizing agent having excellent methylmercaptan-deodorizing activities and palatability, and to provide a foul breath inhibitor and a composition for the oral cavity.
The methylmercaptan-deodorizing agent (foul breath inhibitor) comprises an extract of Terminalia belerica. The aspect wherein the extract of the Terminalia belerica is an extract of the skin of the fruit of the Terminalia belerica, the aspect wherein the extract of the Terminalia belerica is a water extract, and the like are preferable. The composition for the oral cavity contains the methylmercaptan-deodorizing agent. The aspect wherein the concentration of a solid product of the extract of the Terminalia belerica in the composition for the oral cavity is ≥0.0025 mass%, and the like, are preferable.
