Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized microrobot that does not damage a gastrointestinal internal wall and has high propelling force and high operational stability.SOLUTION: A microrobot includes two end covers 6 attached to both ends of a drive mechanism, and a cylindrical shroud 7 disposed between the two end covers 6 so as to cover the drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a central axis 1, two bearings 2, one of the bearings being attached to one end of the central axis 1 and the other one to the other end, a cylindrical inner casing 3 fitted externally on the two bearings 2, a spiral projection 5 formed on an outer surface of the inner casing 3, and a magnet 4 fixed in the inner casing 3 and having an n pole and an s pole. The drive mechanism does not damage an interior part of the human body because the drive mechanism is covered with the shroud 7 and not exposed to outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
