Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone mill for surgery with secure and easy maintenance.SOLUTION: A bone mill 30 includes a base part 32 and a mill head 34 which is attached removably to the base part 32. A cutting disk is arranged rotatably in the mill head 34. When the mill head 34 is attached to the base part 32, the cutting disk is rotated by a motor in the base 32. A plunger 40 attached to the mill head 34 energizes bones to the cutting disk. The cutting disk and an abutting plate in the mill head 34 shear the bones to bone particles. The bone particles are discharged from the opening of the mill head 34 into a receiving tray 42 which is attached removably to the mill head 34.
