PURPOSE: To reduce the effect of a radio wave on a human body by incorporating an antenna in a main body and providing a means attenuating a transmission output from the antenna in a direction of a head of the human body.

CONSTITUTION: Even when an omnidirectional antenna 3 is employed for a portable telephone set 1, a ground pattern 2a of a printed circuit board 2 interposed between the antenna 3 and a radiation path of a transmission radio wave is used to shield the transmission radio wave in the direction of the human body thereby reducing the effect of the radio wave onto the human body. Moreover, dielectric bodies 6, 7 with an antenna pattern 4 and a shield pattern 5 formed to them respectively and a dummy board 8 and an outer layer board 9 with no electrode formed to them are laminated and plural external electrodes 10 are formed to the side face. Thus, the shield effect of the ground pattern 2a is enhanced as the antenna 3. In this case, the radio wave is attenuated by 10dB or over in the direction of the human body located at an angle of -180°.
