When a user inputs a keyword to a mobile communications apparatus and transmits data to a fixed communications apparatus in the mobile communications system, the fixed communications apparatus retrieves a function related to the keyword from an on-line database. A retrieval result is transmitted to the mobile communications apparatus, which starts individual functions on the basis of the retrieved result. Consequently, the mobile communication method and the recording medium of the mobile communications system where the function can easily be retrieved can be realized. When the mobile communications apparatus is located outside the range, the function related to the keyword is retrieved from the database incorporated in the mobile communications apparatus. Thus, functions related to the keyword can be retrieved, even if mobile communications apparatus is outside the region.
