To make widely utilizable a VRS to mobile station positioning by obtaining highly accurate positioning position information and also reducing the communication cost with the use of VRS information communicated in one way.
According to the system for mobile station positioning utilizing unidirectional communication, a plurality of antenna stations Ak (A1-An) are set as virtual reference points within a region surrounded by a plurality of fixed reference stations R1-R4. A VRS information broadcasting center SS generates VRS information at the virtual reference points Ak on the basis of satellite observation information from each of the fixed reference stations R1-R4. Each antenna station Ak communicates VRS information having the station itself set as the virtual reference point in one way from the VRS information broadcasting center SS to the mobile station SM. The mobile station SM measures the position of the mobile station SM by a VRS method on the basis of the received VRS information and GPS observation information on the mobile station SM. The VRS information used for the measurement is obtained from the antenna station as the reference point closest to the mobile station and having a largest signal intensity.
