Abstract:
To provide a mobile radio communication system capable of performing communication at a high data transmission speed in the situation of good communication conditions while preventing an increase in a data transmission error rate in communication under the situation of deteriorated communication conditions.SOLUTION: A mobile radio communication system includes: a ground-side device configured to be able to transmit and receive data by any of a plurality of communication schemes made up of combinations of a plurality of communication modes and a plurality of modulation schemes; and an on-vehicle-side device mounted on a vehicle that travels on a track or road. The on-vehicle-side device includes reception strength determination means for determining reception strength and is configured to be able to transmit reception strength information to the ground-side device. The ground-side device is configured to receive the reception strength information and select a communication scheme largest in a data transmission speed among communication schemes guaranteeing a predetermined data transmission error rate on the basis of the received reception strength information and a reception strength threshold value determined from a relationship between reception strength and the data transmission error rate of each of a plurality of communication schemes detected in advance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
