To provide a model reference type automatic control apparatus capable of putting the control of the water treatment process to practical use on the basis of a mathematical model.
A control apparatus contains a data collecting module 2, a mathematical model 7 expressing a water treatment process, language models 3, 4, 6, 8 equipped with the knowledge related to the process and an order control module 5 operating the module and the modules in predetermined order. The language moduls perform the device of a plurality of operation scenaries, the selection of a model parameter to be calibrated and model calibration is performed within a real time corresponding to the apparatus operation state judged from the operation data. The calibrated mathematical model estimates the apparatus operation result due to respective operation scenarios and the language model evaluates the estimation operation result using an objective function corresponding to the operation state to evaluate an estimated operation result to select the optimal operation scenario.
