Abstract:
To provide a mineral oil-based softener which facilitate dispersion of a thermoplastic resin into asphalt, can decrease the quantity of the thermoplastic polymer to be added and has a low environmental load, and to provide a modified asphalt composition using the same.
In a mineral oil-based softener to prepare a modified asphalt by blending it into material asphalt in combination with a thermoplastic polymer, the mineral oil-based softener exhibits the kinetic viscosity of ≥7 mm2/s at 150°C and ≤7 mm2/s at 200°C.
