Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a modified chlorinated ethylene-α-olefin copolymer latex excellent in emulsion stability.
CONSTITUTION: The latex is prepd. by emulsifying, in water, a modified chlorinated ethylene-α-olefin copolymer which is obtd. by chlorinating an ethylene-α- olefin copolymer and simultaneously modifying it with an unsatd. carboxylic acid or its deriv. and has a content of the unsatd. carboxylic acid or its deriv. of 0.01-10wt.%, a chlorine content of 5-40wt.%, and a Mooney viscosity [ML1+4(100°C)] of 5-190.
