PURPOSE: To provide a mold for casting, in which the yield of molten metal is high and also the working efficiency is high and further, so many following processes are not required.

CONSTITUTION: In the inner part of the mold 2, for example, a vertical sprue 10 opened at an induction heating furnace 6 side arranged at the lower part, a closed space part 11 formed at the upper part of the vertical sprue 10, a cavity 12 formed in the shape of a cast product 1 and a runner 13 communicated with the closed space part 11 and the cavity 12, are formed. Further, at the upper end part near the closed space part 1 in the runner 13, i.e., near the closed space part 11 in a core 5, a back flow preventing weir 14 reaching the position higher than the upper end part of the cavity 12 by about 10-15mm, is arranged. Then, the mold 2 having a shape is held in the chamber 15 connected to a pressure reducing pump, etc., and also, the lower end of the vertical sprue 10 in the mold 2 is dipped into the molten metal 16 in the induction heating furnace 6.
