To provide a molded capacitor which can be produced with a simple process and has superior size precision and environmental stability.
In a molded capacitor, a plurality of dielectric layers, conductor layers placed between the dielectric layers, a pair of connection members connecting the selected conductor layers, and a capacitor main body formed of terminal members connected to the connection members are coated with an insulating material by a mold forming method through exposing of the terminal member. The insulating material is liquid crystal polyester resin whose convection temperature is 250°C-370°C and which is obtained by mixing the 0-180 weight parts of fiber-like and/or flat inorganic filler with a liquid crystal polyester 100 weight part or the composition. The convection temperature is set to be one, by which melt viscosity shows 48,000 poise at the pushing out of a heating melted material from a nozzle at the heatup speed of 4°C/minute with a load of 100 kg/cm2 by using a capillary rheometer having a nozzle with 1 mm of inner diameter and 100 mm of length.
