PURPOSE: To prevent the breakdown of window glass at the time of mold clamping, to suppress deformation of a cushioning body and, in its turn, deformation of the terminal shape of a weatherstrip on the other hand, and to prevent occurrence of a hue difference of the surface of the weatherstrip.
CONSTITUTION: A molding die is composed of a top force 1 and a bottom tool 2 and cores 3, 4 and 5 positioned between these two parts and a cavity 6 along the end edge of window glass 7 is formed of them. On the glass opposed surfaces of the top force 1 and the bottom tool 2, cushioning bodies 8 and 9 formed of rubber or the like are provided along the inner peripheral edge of the cavity 6. Extremely thin metal plates 14 and 15 are stuck on the glass contact surfaces of the cushioning bodies 8 and 9 respectively. On the cavity 6 sides of the metal plates 14 and 15, bent pieces 14a and 15a being bent at an angle of 90° along the lateral sides of the cushioning bodies 8 and 9 are provided and they cover the lateral sides of the cushioning bodies 8 and 9 continuously to the die surface of the cavity 6.
