Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a molding material of high heat resistance, heat distortion temperature and Young's modulus, with moderate internal loss, suitable for audio, by impregnating flake graphite in a blend from polyvinyl chloride and ABS resin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective material can be obtained by impregnating (A) 50W 300pts.wt. of flake graphite in (B) a blend consisting of (i) 90W20pts.wt. of polyvinyl chloride (pref. partly or all post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) and (ii) 10W80pts.wt. of ABS resin. Decreased amount of said polyvinyl chloride will result in improved workability whereas leading to the lowering of the heat distortion temperature of the objective material, hence, its amount may be adjusted according to use.
