Title:
MOLTEN METAL COOLING VESSEL OF SUPERIOR ELECTROMAGNETIC RABBLING PERFORMANCE FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5626660
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform superior electromagnetic rabbling by segmenting the wall of a molten metal cooling vessel provided with an electromagnetic induction device on the outside circumference of the vessel in the thickness direction and forming a minute clearance communicating the segments.

CONSTITUTION: A cooling vessel 1 is formed by thermoconductive material such as, for example, Cu, and has a lower opening. This is segmented in the thickness direction of the vessel wall and a minute clearance 3 of a suitable length communicated at one or both ends with the end edge 2 of the vessel is provided along the wall. Because of this, there is the effect of dispersing the clearances that are produced between the vessel wall and frozen shell and become the hindrance for heat transfer. When a thick-walled steel plate (20mm) is used and electromagnetic rabbling frequency of 60Hz is used, the rabbling thrust of 5W9 times higher than that of conventional methods is obtainable.
