Title:
MONOMERIZATION OF POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3652895
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily enlarge a reactor by advancing a reaction in a homogenous phase since in a conventional method, the reaction is partially or wholly made into two or more phases, the security of the contact of these phases is needed and the enlargement of the reactor is a problem.
SOLUTION: This monomerizaton method is a method for thermally depolymerizing a polyethylene terephthalate in a homogenous phase consisting of the polyethylene terephthalate, dimethyl terephthalate and methanol under a pressure at which methanol can exist in a liquid phase. Methanol is additionally added during the advance of the depolymerization.
