Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller including all advantages of RS-484 for enabling a user to interface to a controller via RS-232 without converting individual RS-232 into RS-485. SOLUTION: A controller includes a port for receiving RS-232-compatible signal, an RS-232 signal is converted to RS-485-compatible signal, and the signal is further converted to a logic level signal suited to a motor controller. Since an RS-484 signal is shared by a number of controllers, an RS-484 port 104 is provided. The RS-484 ports 10 can be mutually connected via a common bus so that a number of motors can be individually controlled from a master controller connected to an arbitrary RS-232 port 106.
