Abstract:
To make it possible to prevent a surge voltage even if an error occurs in a timing of issuing a switching command.SOLUTION: The motor drive system includes: a motor having for each phase a plurality of windings and a contact switching structure for switching winding contacts in response to a switching command; an inverter for driving the motor by converting DC power from a DC power supply into AC power and supplying the AC power to the motor; and a control unit for issuing the switching command to a motor contact switching structure for each phase. The control unit specifies, for each phase, a corresponding period in which a current to the plurality of windings corresponding to the phase is a predetermined value or less, and issues the switching command in the specified corresponding period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
