PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for sufficiently utilizing the performance of a motor.SOLUTION: According to a PCU for driving a motor, a power controller performs: setting, as an operational environment of the motor, operational condition groups (condition groups A-D) being highly associated with a deterioration in insulation quality, for each part of a motor that has high possibility of a partial discharge; integrating switching counts Sa-Sd of a switching element for each condition group when the motor operates in each condition group (S12, S22, S32, S42); and performing, in a case where the switching counts Sa-Sd integrated for each condition group exceed given thresholds Ca-Cd for each condition group (No for S14, No for S24, No for S34, No for S44), given motor protection control X, Y, Z, W for a condition group with the threshold Ca-Cd exceeded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
