To provide a motor-driven compressor capable of preventing a coating film of a coil end from being damaged by recovering foreign substance circulating in an air conditioning circuit.
A motor part 5 having a stator 12 and a coil 18 wound around the stator 12 is stored in a compressor housing 2. A part of the coil 18 protrudes from a rear end part of the stator 12 and forms a rear side coil end 18b. An intake port 2a for communicating an external refrigerant passage and an intake side space IN is provided in the compressor housing 2 and the intake port 2a and the rear side coil end 18b of the motor part 5 face against each other. Varnish or resin is coated on an outer circumference part of the rear side coil end 18b and cured and a first recovering part 19 which is softer than stiffness of iron or aluminum is formed.
