Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an aging treatment time of a DC brush-type motor for reduction of man-hours and to improve sliding performance between commutators and brushes for the reduction of noise and vibration.
SOLUTION: This motor 11 comprises a yoke 15 having permanent magnets 16, an armature 17 fixed to an output shaft 12 and placed rotatably in the yoke 15, commutators 22 fixed to the output shaft 12, and brushes 23 sliding on the commutators 22. After the armature 17, the commutators 22, and the brushes 23 are incorporated in the yoke 15. Before the permanent magnets 16 are magnetized, the armature 17 is turned while currents are applied to the brushes 23 to form carbon layers 1 on the surfaces of the commutators 22 which are brought into sliding contact with the brushes 23. When the motor is completed, the carbon layers 1 are already formed on the commutators 22, so that a time required for an aging treatment for making the brushes 23 and the commutators 22 fitted to each other can be reduced.
