Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front underrun protector for preventing a passenger car from diving into a truck and the like at the time of head-on coliision with a function as a dynamic damper.
SOLUTION: Both the end parts of a front underrun protector 1 are mounted thereto through respective brackets 3 provided with paired rubber members 4 whose attenuation can be expected. The spring constant K of each rubber member is so set up that a equation K=m(2πf)2 must be satisfied wherein (f) represents the twisting resonance frequency of each cap mount system, or the resonance frequency of the engine mount system, and (m) represents the mass of the front underrun protector 1.
