Title:
MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR CRANK ANGLE DETECTING SENSOR OF ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3480150
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a crank angle sensor from its contamination and overheat due to lubricating oil, by mounting the crank angle sensor in an outer wall side of a timing gear case oppositely facing a crank pulley pivotally supported to a crankshaft, and fixedly providing a sensor plate placed oppositely to this sensor in a crank pulley side.
SOLUTION: In an engine for an automobile, a V-belt is linked to a V-belt groove 2a of a crank pulley 2. Here, a sensor plate 11 is secured to an inner side surface of the crank pulley 2, and also a crank angle sensor 10 is arranged correspondingly to a peripheral part of the sensor plate 11, to be secured to a timing gear case 25 through a retainer 22 and a crank pully cover 24. The crank pulley 2 is protruded to the inside from an internal surface 24a of the crank pulley cover 24, and also a small clearance is provided between a peripheral surface 2b and the internal circumference of the crank pulley cover 24, so that mud, small stone, or the like tending to infiltrate toward a side of the crank angle sensor 10 from the outside are sprung back to the outside.
