PURPOSE: To reduce damage of an adsorbing agent and a replenishing amount of said adsorbing agent by a method wherein a moving amount of the adsorbing agent in a gas inlet side and a gas outlet side of a moving layer is changed to equalize an adsorbing amount and, thereby, a total moving amount of the adsorbing agent is reduced.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge part 9 of an adsorbing agent in a moving layer is divided into flow passages 9A, 9B and both of them are respectively connected to a lower vibration feeder 10 and, to each flow passages 9A, 9B, a damper for controlling a moving amount of the adsorbing agent is provided. The adsorbing agent 14 is entered into the moving layer 6 from a supply part 8 and contacted with a SOx containing gas 1 to remove SOx therein by adsorption and moved downwardly by vibration of the vibration feeder 10 to be discharged through the flow passages 9A, 9B. In this time, by making an opening degree of the damper in a gas outlet side larger than that of the damper in a gas inlet side, an amount of the adsorbing agent passing through the flow passage 9B is adjusted so as to be made larger than that of said adsorbing agent passing through the flow passage 9A.
