PURPOSE: To provide a muffler installing structure for a water surface traveling ship by which compactness and weight reduction can be realized.
CONSTITUTION: A muffler installing structure for a water surface traveling ship is constituted to install a muffler body to reduce an exhaust sound of an engine for the water surface traveling ship on the engine through an installing member 40. In this case, the installing member 40 is composed of a base part 70 which has an exhaust hole 70a communicated with an exhaust port 21a of the engine and is fixed to the cylinder block 21 side of the engine, an installing part body 71 which is fixed to the base part 70 and forms an exhaust passage 76 to communicate the exhaust hole 70a with the muffler body together with the base part 70 and a cover 72 arranged around the installing part body 71 through a prescribed clearance being a cooling jacket 73.
