Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mulch film for agricultural purposes that can surely and inexpensively prevent the soil under the mulch film from drying at places readily occurring dryness and provides a method for preventing the soil under the mulch film from drying.
SOLUTION: This mulch film has the vegetational areas P1 and P2 corresponding to the vegetational sites of at least one row of the cultivated plants formed along the longitudinal direction of the ridge A and the irrigation areas corresponding to the soil-drying site (a) situated on one or both sides of the vegetation sites in the ridge A, along the longitudinal direction of the film 1, respectively. In addition, a plurality of small holes 3 or slits 3 are perforated on the irrigation area W. In a preferred embodiment, the irrigation area extends along the longitudinal direction of the film 1 and has 20 cm or larger width.
