Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-air space type rotary engine which excels more in performance than other internal combustion engines currently in actual use such as a reciprocating engine, a Wankel type rotary engine, and a gas turbine engine, each of which has its respective merits and demerits, and a four cycle reciprocating engine is the most widely used engine.
SOLUTION: The multi-air space type rotary engine is provided with a housing which is elliptic or analogous to it, a perfectly circular rotor, a special separator position control mechanism, and a special sealing mechanism of high reliability for maintaining an airtightness of each part. In the case of its application to a small displacement engine, the blowby at the sparking plug part is prevented by using a sparking plug which has a shape that the end of electrical discharge is projected, thus the innovative multi-air space type rotary engine is realized which excels more in almost all of the performance terms than existing engines.
