Title:
MULTI-BEAM SATELLITE ANTENNA FOR CELLULAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3452870
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-beam satellite antenna structure including a means that emulates a feed of a large size into a microwave feed of a small size.
SOLUTION: A side lobe is reduced and fast roll-off in a main lobe is generated by providing a surface reflectance ratio with a taper in the reflection surface of a parabolic reflector 1 in a parabolic antenna using resistance material 9, the use of an antenna composed of microwave feeds 3, 5 and 7 whose diameters are smaller which is requested by an antenna that does not have a surface reflectance ratio with a taper is made possible, and the antenna is effectively emulated. A plurality of feeds can adjacently be arranged in order to form a multi-beam antenna generating adjacent beam patterns as a result of a relatively small feed diameter. A multi-beam antenna for satellite cellular communication enables a wider area of the earth to be receivable.
