To solve the problem that in a color liquid crystal display device having a multi-gap structure, a liquid crystal changes in capacitance to each pixel of R, G, B corresponding to the cell gap size of a liquid crystal layer, and accordingly, a drop of pixel electrode voltage caused by punch-through of a gate pulse is also different by each pixel, therefore, it is difficult to reduce flickers by correcting asymmetry of a signal waveform by setting voltage applied to a counter electrode common to each pixel as in a color liquid crystal display device having the same cell gap size to each pixel.
In accumulated capacitance or parasitic capacitance between the gate and drain in a pixel, a difference in the liquid crystal capacitance between respective pixels is compensated by setting an area, film thickness of an insulating film, or a dielectric constant correspondingly to the cell gap lengths of R, G, B.
