To enable multi-purpose application utilizing a existing rail by fixing a support metal on the existing rail to hold an auxiliary rail on the support metal.
A support metal 3 is used to mount an auxiliary rail 4 on the existing rail. The support metal 3 with a U-shaped cross section is so built as to surround the outer circumference of the existing rail 1 except the front thereof. With the support metal dividable into two metal pieces, the existing rail 1 is grasped from both sides and the rear side of the support metal 3 is clamped by a bolt 5 to integrate. The front side rim part of the support metal 3 is bent inward like a hook and is engaged with a ridge 1A of the existing rail. A mounting part 3A is formed to fix the auxiliary rail 4 on the external surface of the support metal 3. The auxiliary rail 4 to be fixed on the support metal 3 thus obtained has a T shaped cross section and is constituted of an engaging surface 4A and a reinforced surface 4B orthogonal thereto. A number of rectangular holes are arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction on one side of the engaging surface 4A.
