Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance and size stability by applying mirror processing on a tip and inserting a bundle of contact-bonded and processed optical fibers into a fixed guide. CONSTITUTION:Sleeve 2 are securely contact-bonded to the respective end parts of a number of optical fibers 1 having the end surfaces on which mirror processing is applied. The optical fiber 1 is inserted through the through-hole of a fixed guide 3 which has through-holes each having size larger than the outside diameter of the optical fiber 1 fixed to each sleeve 2 and smaller than the outside diameter of the sleeve 2, and the fixed guides 3 are arranged to the two ends of each of the sleeves 2. Further, an end part effecting positioning in the axial direction of the optical fiber 1 and in a direction extending at right angles with a shaft by fixing the fixed guide 3 by means of a casing is provided. This constitution improves heat resistance and size stability.
