Abstract:
To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor in which moisture hardly infiltrates into a capacitive element.SOLUTION: External electrodes include Ni and Sn. When a cross section parallel to a side surface of a capacitive element is viewed, the cross section being obtained by cutting the capacitive element and each external electrode at a length of 1/2 of a dimension of the capacitive element in a width direction, each external electrode has a C-shape on an end surface of the capacitive element and on principal surfaces connected to both sides of the end surface. Each of the C-shaped external electrodes includes a first region and a second region completely surrounding the first region. The second region is a region where Sn is unevenly distributed, and when a square measurement region of 10 μm×10 μm is arbitrarily selected from the second region appearing in the cross section, an area of Sn is greater than or equal to 90% with respect to the total of an area of Ni and the area of Sn, the area of Sn appearing in the measurement region, and in the first region, when a square measurement region of 10 μm×10 μm is arbitrarily selected from the first region appearing in the cross section, the area of Sn is less than 90% with respect to the total of the area of Ni and the area of Sn, the area of Sn appearing in the measurement region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
