PURPOSE: To develop a metallic belt having generated bending stress relaxed and having high tensile strength, by winding a thin metallic sheet to annular multilayers while loading specified tension and coating an adhesive, and hardening the adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: Proper tension is loaded to a thin sheet 1 having 20W30μ thickness, of 13 Cr stainless steel or amorphous alloy, etc. by a movable roll 3 for adding tension, and a silicone rubber adhesive is coated on both sides, and wound around the core ring 4 of a taking-up device. This is taken out from the core ring 4, and, if necessary, heated to harden the adhesive, and a multilayer metallic belt is manufactured. Or, an annular body consisting of thin sheet of maraging steel may be covered on one or both of inner peripheral face and outer peripheral face. when this belt is used on a pulley, bending stress generated by the pulley is lessened, and a multilayer metallic belt having high tensile strength can be obtained.
