Abstract:
To provide mutant McoP that has excellent thermal stability and storage stability, and can provide high oxidation reduction potential, and to provide nucleic acids encoding the same, as well as to provide electrode materials, cathode electrodes, and fuel cells comprising mutant McoP.SOLUTION: Provided is a mutant multicopper oxidase having multicopper oxidase activity, containing an amino acid sequence in which a methionine residue at a position corresponding to position 470 of SEQ ID NO: 2 is substituted with a hydrophobic amino acid residue, in (A) an amino acid sequence in which a methionine residue at position 470 in SEQ ID NO:2 is substituted with a hydrophobic amino acid residue, or in (B) an amino acid sequence having at least 80% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
