Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:N-Pyridylaniline derivatives of formula I (X is H, halogen, lower alkyl, nitro, or trifluoromethyl; n is integer of 1W4).
EXAMPLE: N-(5-Chloro-2-pyridyl)-2,4-dinitro-6-trifluoromethylaniline.
USE: Agent for controlling noxious life. Especially effective to control the growth of insects, mites and germs which are harmful in agriculture and horticulture.
PROCESS: A compound of formula I is obtained by the reaction of a compound of formula II (Y is halogen or amino) with a compound of formula III (Z is halogen or amino, provided that Z is amino when Y is halogen and Z is halogen when Y is amino) in the presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. NaOH.
