Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel Stat3 pathway inhibitor and cancer stem cell inhibitor.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to: a novel naphtho class compound as a Stat3 pathway inhibitor and also as a cancer stem cell inhibitor; a method for using said compound for the treatment of cancer; a method for using said compound for the treatment of disorders in mammals associated with aberrant Stat3 pathway activity; as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising said compound. In 1 aspect, the present invention provides a method for treating a disorder associated with aberrant Stat3 pathway activity in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula I to VIII as described herein.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
