Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for easily forming a desired irregular structure in an inplant for human made from polymer composite at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: A tissue internal growing region is formed in a surgical implant 20. A space occupying body 10 having a desired pattern 14 is buried in a part requiring the tissue internal growth on the surface of the implant. The buried space occupying body 10 is dissolved by an aqueous solution of acid or the like to leave the pattern on the surface of the implant. The implant 20 is formed of a semi-crystalline thermoplastic resin such as polyether etherketone or polyphenylene sulfide. The space occupying body 10 is formed of an acid-soluble metal plate having the desired pattern formed thereon by machining. The space occupying body 10 is buried in the surface of the composite by induction heating.
