Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively use the dynamic range of an A/D converter to a burst signal part by providing a burst-up part to amplify only the burst part of a low frequency converted chrominance signal and converting the signal to a digital signal.
CONSTITUTION: A reproduced signal outputted from a head 1 is amplified by an amplifier circuit 2, and the low frequency converted chrominance signal is extracted by a low-pass filter 3. At a burst-up circuit 4, only the burst part of the low frequency converted signal is double amplified, and the outputted low frequency converted chrominance signal is inputted to an A/D converter 5, converted into the digital signal and demodulated to two color difference signals by a demodulation circuit 6. This demodulation circuit 6 is provided with circuits required for processing reproduced chrominance signals such as a comb line filter or the like for ACC, APC, the restorage of a phase for every horizontal period and cross talk removal. The two demodulated color difference signals are converted into carrier chrominance signals by a modulation circuit 7, and a ratio with the other signal part is returned to original one while turning only the burst part to 1/2 by a burst-down circuit 8.
