Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a docking station to be connected with a computer from being illegally used by a malicious user.
SOLUTION: When connecting a computer 101 to a docking station 102, the equipment peculiar identifier of the present computer 101 is sent to the docking station 102. The docking station 102 compares the sent equipment peculiar identifier of the computer 101 with the equipment peculiar identifier of a computer registered in a ROM 112 for permitting connection and only when both the identifiers are matched with each other, the supply of a reset signal to a secondary storage device 109, an input device 110 and an output device 111 is stopped, then these devices can be used from the computer 101.
