PURPOSE: To provide the printer or a high speed and high printing quality as the printer to be used as an external output device of a computer, etc., and more particularly the magnetic printer and the magnetic recording system capable of forming high-density magnetic latent image.

CONSTITUTION: This printer is constituted of an ultrasonic head consisting of an ultrasonic vibrator 1, an ultrasonic horn 2 and a recording stylus 3 and a recording medium consisting of a material having high magnetism remaining under pressure. This magnetic recording system consists in forming magnetization inversion parts by pressing the ultrasonic head by a suitable pressure to the recording medium in a uniform magnetic field and exciting the ultrasonic head to induce the pressure degaussing of the recording medium while scanning the medium with the ultrasonic head in accordance with recording frequency. Further, gradation recording by changing the frequencies to drive the ultrasonic head and the pressure to press the ultrasonic head to the recording medium is possible as well.
