Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device with which provision of any current transformer is omitted, design is simplified, cost is reduced, and the switching loss is ensured small.
CONSTITUTION: An oscillating transistor Q1 is oscillated with a voltage generated in a secondary winding L2 (self-excited oscillation feedback winding) installed at a ballast choke 8 which restricts the current flowing through a discharge lamp 9. A voltage drive element Q8 is actuated in response to oscillation of the transistor Q1, and a high frequency voltage for lighting the discharge lamp is given from a DC power supply.
