Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extend the dynamic range of the luminace of color display by providing a color processing means performing RGB conversion to input data exceeding the luminance saturation point of a display color so that the luminance may be linearly changed as chroma is changed. CONSTITUTION: A color processing means 29 performs the color processing of data selected by a multiplexer(MPX) 27, and is constituted of three conversion tables corresponding to R(red) 29a, G(green) 29b and B(blue) 29c. In this means 29, the RGB conversion is performed to the input data exceeding the luminance saturation point of the display color so that the luminance may be linearly changed as the chroma is changed. Thus, the dynamic range of the luminance of the color display is extended.
