PURPOSE: To provide a voltage type inverter device which can make a current approximating a sine wave flow to a load.
CONSTITUTION: A dead time compensation circuit 80, a power element loss voltage compensation circuit 90 and a correction circuit 100 are added to a conventional voltage-type inverter device. The dead time compensation circuit 80 detects a PWM output voltage, computes an error voltage for compensating a dead time and outputs an error voltage signal showing this error voltage. The power element loss voltage compensation circuit 90 detects a current flowing to a load (induction motor) from a reverse conversion part 20u for a phase (u) which is a power switching circuit, and it computes a loss voltage for compensating a loss caused by a power element and outputs a loss voltage signal showing this loss voltage. The correction circuit (adder) 100 adds the error voltage signal and the loss voltage signal to a phase-(u) voltage instruction signal vu* and supplies the phase-(u) voltage instruction signal thus corrected to a phase-(u) modulation part 50u.
